One of the most common health conditions which seem to affect millions of people around the world on a daily basis are skin conditions, and aside from having unpleasant side-effects and serving as an aesthetic nightmare, they also tend to lower the self-esteem of individuals, especially during the warm summer seasons.
The most common type of skin condition which arises in such warm weather is dark underarms, and the reason why they are so unpleasant and uncomfortable. This is because many people initially associate dark underarms with unhygienic conditions, despite that not being the case.
While medical experts aren’t sure what causes this condition, they know one thing – that the underarms skin is highly sensitive, and even our normal daily routine activities can make it dry and irritated.
So with this in mind, improper care and lack of attention to that specific skin area is what causes the darkening, and when all that is combined with chemical-loaded antiperspirants and deodorants, the side-effects get even worse.
But now that the summer season is here, we don’t have much time to think as to what caused our dark underarms, only time to fix the problem, and since over-the-counter creams and medicines haven’t risen to fame thanks to their effectiveness, we have turned to natural medicine for help, and we managed to make a list of 6 ingredients that will help you eliminate this problem in no time!
1.Potato
Potatoes are the first on our list and do wonders for dark underarms. Simply cut a potato and massage the dark skin with it. An alternative method is to grate a small amount of the potato and juice it, before applying the juice to the underarms, letting it sit for 10 minutes before washing it off.
2. Cucumber
Just like the potato method, you can massage the affected skin area with a slice of cucumber, or grate the cucumber, get the juice and apply it on the area.
3. Lemon
Of course lemon found its way on this list, and every other, thanks to its powerful properties. All you have todo is cut a thick slice of lemon, and massage the dark skin area. The fruit helps remove dead skin cells and lighten the skin area. Once done, wash the underarms with water, before applying a light moisturizer.
4. Baking Soda
Baking soda is another bacteria-eliminating agent which also happens to normalize and regulate the pH levels of our skin. Simply prepare a paste of baking soda and water, and use it as a scrub.
5. Orange Peel
Peel an orange, and dry the peels in the sun. Once they are dry, grind them until they are close to powder, and prepare a paste. Add pink water and milk, and massage the underarms with this paste for about 10-15 minutes.
6. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil contains large doses of vitamin E, which has been known to lighten up skin in the long run. Therefore, in order to achieve the best results, regularly apply coconut oil(on a daily basis) or every few weeks.
